Yaria Bridge — Privacy Policy

1. Summary

Yaria Bridge helps you send video and audio links from web pages to the Yaria desktop application running on your own computer. The extension does not operate a cloud service, does not sell data, and does not send your browsing activity to yaria.live or any third party.

2. Who We Are

Yaria Bridge is published as part of the Yaria product family (yaria.live). Contact: yariaapp@icloud.com.

3. Data the Extension Handles

To find downloadable media and hand it to Yaria, the extension may process:

• Page URLs and titles of tabs where you use the extension
• Media URLs (for example direct files, HLS .m3u8, DASH .mpd) detected on the page or via network responses
• Limited request metadata needed for a successful download (for example content type, size, and referrer when available)
• Your bridge settings (host, port, and pairing token) that you enter in extension options

This information is used only to list media in the extension popup and to submit a download job to your local Yaria app.

4. Where Data Goes

• Local only by default. Detected items are kept in the extension’s memory for the current browser session (per tab) and in browser storage for your bridge host/port/token settings.
• Your computer (localhost). When you click Download, the extension sends a job to the Yaria desktop bridge (default http://127.0.0.1:19547) using the token you configured. That traffic stays on your machine unless you deliberately point the extension at another host you control.
• Not to yaria.live. The extension does not upload browsing history, media URLs, or tokens to yaria.live servers.
• Websites you visit. Normal page loads still go to those sites as usual. The extension does not replace the site’s own privacy practices.

5. Permissions Explained

Chrome Web Store and Firefox Add-ons require us to explain why each permission is used:

• storage — Save bridge host, port, and pairing token in the browser’s extension storage.
• tabs — Know the active tab so the popup can show media for that page and update the badge count.
• scripting — Inject the lightweight content script that looks for media elements and download links on the page.
• webRequest — Observe completed network responses to detect media streams (for example video/audio MIME types or playlist URLs) that are not always visible in the page HTML.
• contextMenus — “Download with Yaria” on the page, links, video, and audio.
• alarms — Optional background housekeeping (for example refreshing connection state); not used for tracking.
• Host access (http/https pages and localhost) — Read media-related URLs on pages you visit so the extension can list them, and call the local Yaria bridge on 127.0.0.1 / localhost. Broad host access is required because media can appear on any site you choose to use with Yaria Bridge.

6. What We Do Not Do

• No advertising, analytics SDKs, or tracking pixels in the extension
• No sale or rental of personal data
• No account required inside the extension
• No remote code fetch for the extension logic beyond normal browser/extension updates from the store

7. Pairing Token & Security

The pairing token is generated by the Yaria desktop app and stored only in your browser’s extension storage and on your device. Anyone with the token and access to the bridge port on your machine could submit download jobs. Keep Yaria’s browser integration enabled only when you use it, and regenerate the token in Yaria settings if it may have been exposed.

8. Children

Yaria Bridge is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect children’s data through the extension.

9. Data Retention & Deletion

• Per-tab media lists are cleared when the tab is closed or reloads.
• Bridge settings remain until you clear them in extension options or remove the extension.
• Uninstalling Yaria Bridge removes its extension storage from the browser.
• Downloads already accepted by the Yaria desktop app are governed by the desktop app and remain on your disk under your control.

10. Your Choices

• Disable or uninstall the extension at any time in your browser.
• Turn off browser integration in Yaria → Settings so the local bridge stops accepting jobs.
• Limit use to sites you trust; the extension only acts on pages you browse while it is installed and enabled.

11. Changes

We may update this policy when the extension’s behavior or store requirements change. The “Last updated” date at the top will be revised. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
